Main Ingredients
- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 5 cups water divided
- ½ cup milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 stick cinnamon
Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a blender, combine the rice, 2 cups of water, and the cinnamon stick. Blend until the rice and cinnamon are roughly ground.
Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and add the remaining 3 cups of water. Let it sit at room temperature for at least 3 hours, or overnight for best results.
Strain the rice mixture into a pitcher, discarding the solids. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve over ice and enjoy!
